SEIU 925 Member Paula Hall Told Seattle P-I Readers How SEIU Members Will Be Holding Elected Officials Accountable

Nearly a year ago, I had the honor of delivering the Democratic radio address to a national audience. It was a tremendous privilege to step up to the microphone and speak to Americans about our national health care crisis.

I'm not an elected leader. I'm a child care provider and the mom of a family that knows all too well the trauma and economic ruin that comes when the U.S. health care system fails you.

Washington State SEIU Endorses Obama

Obama!!Washington State SEIU, the state's largest labor union, has endorsed Barack Obama for President. Representing over 100,000 workers, 50,000 education and child care workers, Washington SEIU called Obama the only candidate who can unite people to bring the fundamental change our country needs.

"We know that Barack Obama stands with and for working people because in Illinois he acted to help raise child care workers out of poverty and improve the quality of care for children," said Kim Cook, SEIU 925 President. "He supported a movement of child care workers that has spread to Washington State and across the country."

Questions about Pension Investments

When Our Pension Dollars Fund Buy-Outs
Take Action in Your AreaSEIU members are asking hard questions about the conduct of private companies like KKR--that buy firms, take them off the stock market, intensively manage them and then resell them to the public. They're damaging our economy.

Join us on July 17 as activists in 100 cities and 25 nations come together to take back the economy and get the economy back on track. Act to end special treatment and tax breaks that allow billionaires like Henry Kravis to pay a lower tax rate on his vast income than teachers, nurses, and other hardworking folks. Let’s stop rewarding corporate players who make risky, debt-loaded business deals that cost people jobs and hurt consumers.

SEIU Local 925 member Chris King raised questions about KKR in Olympia.
